I found about 20 eggs in my duck box. I pulled them all and did a light test. None of them are fertilized. I did the water test, and they almost all sank. Except for 3. The 17 eggs that sank and are considered "fresh", are we able to eat them? My duck was laying about an egg day, so I can imagine they're almost 3 weeks old. Has anyone done this??

I'm located in reno nv so the weather has been around 30-50 degrees

To my knowledge, neither test you did is very reliable. I can't tell my chicken eggs are fertilized or not by just candling them. Usually, it's not until they've been incubated a few days do I find out, or just crack one open and look. Do you have a drake so they could possibly be fertile?

It sounds like your outdoor temp has been cold enough so they technically would all be edible, but I'd shy from it personally.

If you have a drake, I'd either put them in the incubator and see if I get anything, or scramble them up and feed them back to the ducks. But if you want to eat them, with it being no warmer than 50F, I'd think they'd all be fine.
