Thank you.I am so sorry fuzzi :-(. I thought she was going to be fine too. Tamar had a good fulfilling life and I hope it was an easy pass for her this morning.
Thank you for thinking of me. Doing fine here. Just very heavy rain since yesterday noon and it is projected to stop in a couple hours.Thank you.
I hope you're hunkered down. Storm made landfall in SC but is headed north.

We had a couple downpours yesterday afternoon. I was in the second coop when the skies opened. Naomi ran to the back and called her chicks. They ran under her as she spread her wings and settled down over them. Good momma.
We got almost 3/4" in less than 15 minutes, and the perimeter of the coop flooded.

Due to the uneven ground and a slight slope towards the woods side (south) the water drains quickly. The brooder is relatively dry, and has bricks and stones for a floor, the chicks can get off the ground if the area floods. I laid down some faux wood boards in the middle of the coop so the chicks have bridges to the high spot, in the back. There's also the two nesting boxes, which are chick accessible.
I really don't anticipate issues, but haven't had chicks this young in weather like this before, so a part of me worries. A tad.
Internet problem is frustrating. Sorry. Hopefully it will get fixed tomorrow.I was able to check on my flocks after I got home from church, but now it's pouring again, windy. All poultry accounted for.
I candled all 8 of the incubator eggs last night, saw movement in the majority. I was so excited that I forgot to count how many, but I did think to draw a checkmark on those that exhibited life.
Internet still down, third day. I'm already over my data limit for July.I texted the ISP company again, fussed, so they moved my appointment from NEXT Thursday to tomorrow.
