Does anyone understand the genetics of the Golden Duckwing coloration? I was told they are the result of crossing BB Red x Silver Duckwing. But my question is, do their offspring breed true to color, or are they only a result of the hybrid breeding? Thanks in advance. Ruth.

I don't know the answer, but if Goldie is a gold-duckwing (I believe she is a wellsummer cross) Take a look at her only 2 chicks (both from an Americauna roo)

The offspring of that cross would not breed true for the color.

I believe its more complicated than just doing that cross to come to that coloration. Golden duckwing will breed true.
