I don't know what else to call it. its not like splayed leg or could be. A chick I had hatch out her one leg is veering in and 2 the right but her hip seems off as well. you can see her hip is off to. so is that still a splay or splay and something else? she came out of a small egg but cracked around it to small and the whole and I have to help her. as she was stuck she did not make the whole big enough but when I taking her out her leg was placed or looked wrong like to cramped up.... as I have watched them hatch out an she was a little different and backwards....
I have a brantam bantam who leg was like that only stuck out in front but was not like that born developed after. I tired/vet/ old farmers that seen that sorta thing splint and wrap it BUT it never helped him and he would sit there with it splinted and not move to eat drink. Wrapped he would not as much an eventually after dealing with it he corrected himself (we put vits in the water to help) still has slight limp but with the others doing fine.
She is trying to get up an around an get that leg under her but having trouble. she has a little yoke which some of mine have had but by the next day or 24 hrs it goes away. I have put stuff on around it to prevent infection But what should or can I do for her legs? or should I wait to see when she fully gets up because she is not all the way around. she tried for a bit then sleeps for ever then tires then sleeps... she is not awake and around fully yet. so do I wait or do something now? you see the one hip normal compared to the other.

I will try the rubber band thing. I tired a band-aid but his leg keeps kicking out his good leg. he/she not sure really yet think she, tries to stand on it but seems week in the hip area.. the leg an foot are strong it curls an wraps around things and hold as I tired to see how strong his/her foot is.. its the hip... feels a little off set when I feel his little bones. like he/she grew that way. I have some chickens I got from hatchery's have a slight limps or hip out more then the other but no problems unlike his guy who seems week in the one leg.
determined little thing. has already moved his/her way over to food/water and ate drank. I have been trying to help him/her stand but nothing. Was thinking of maybe a chick cup if all else fails. Just not sure how to set it all up but can figure that one out.
and thanks for the info.

Has the yolk absorbed yet? Seems they are weak until that happens.
There is a site called Poultry Podiatry. Tons of info and maybe of help.
Could be this is not fixable... but you are trying!
