HELP! Chicks losing feathers on wings and back!!

My chicks went through various stages of baby feathers to adult feathers stuff.
Most of my chicks never really had naked spots except for 1.

This 1 particular chick had naked shoulders and lots of feather pins without the feathers growing from them yet, etc...
She still isn't 100% feathered and looks funny - but she's fine. She's just taking a bit longer to feather in then everyone else.

Yup! That's exactly what my chicks looked like! Good new though, I can't really tell you what it was but I treated them with poultry dust and ivermectin and they are slowly growing their feathers back! I never saw any lice or mites and they never seemed sick?!?!? So I really don't know what it was. I used the ivermectin that absorbed through the skin, which was really easy because of the missing feathers. Please let me know if it works for you or if you find out what it was cause, I am curious to know! Also I removed them from the heat lamp all together, just in case it was too much heat. Just curious, do you use pine bedding? I wondered if that had something to do with it somehow.

I do use pine bedding, but I don't think that's what it was. None of my others looked like that. We actually got them from a local breeder and asked him about it. He said that he feed them very high protein percentages and that maybe the sudden drop in protein is what did it. We were feeding Dumors chick starter/grower. I switched them to Ultra Kibble for Chicks and started adding Poultry Cell to their water. Their feathers are coming back and they're looking good!

Hello! I have a couple of chicks that are losing the feathers on their wings and backs! I have searched for mites and lice and don't see anything! The chicks seem to be eating and drinking fine but look terrible! This is my second year of raising chicks and I have never seen anything like this! One chick is almost completely naked! I would welcome any suggestions, I scoured the internet yesterday and still am unsure of how to treat it. I was thinking clean the coop again and dust it and the chicks and maybe treat them with Ivomec also??? Please if you have had any success at treating something like this, let me know what worked for you and what the problem is?!?!? I also have some DE on my shopping list. Can all of these be used together, since I'm not really sure of what I'm treating? I have a yard full of grown chickens and this only seems to be affecting the babies and not even all of them but it does seem to be spreading slowly to the others in the brooder. Help! I LOVE my chickens! Thank you XXXOOO
