Hi, everyone! My name’s Jeff, and I’m recently retired after a long career in law enforcement, where I spent most of my time helping reunite families. These days, I’ve traded the city streets for something a bit quieter—raising chickens and ducks has become my new passion.

I’m originally from Illinois, and while I won’t bore you with too many details from my old line of work, let’s just say I’ve learned to appreciate the simple joys in life, like fresh eggs and the antics of a flock waddling around the yard.

It may take me a bit to get settled in. I’m finally getting to enjoy a prolonged tour in some well-deserved downtime, something long overdue.

I’m here to connect with like-minded folks, share tips, and maybe learn a thing or two from all of you. Looking forward to swapping stories about feed, predators, coop setups, or whatever else comes up. Hope this fits the right tone. Thanks for having me!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! It really means a lot to me. Retirement has been a big change, but it's giving me the chance to focus on things I’ve always loved, like caring for my flock and learning more about these amazing creatures. Thanks again for making me feel at home!
