Hopeful Hatch-a-Long

Great news! Sorry if the updates keep spamming everyone this is my very first hatch and these eggs in particular are special to me since they are the only thing I have left of my first flock.

All eggs are still developing! We could see a few of them kicking, everyone had healthy blood vessels and no sign of quitters, no blood rings and everyone was much bigger than last week! The darker shells were hard to see through, but I could spot some healthy veining so I'm going to assume all is well in there! I still have a lingering fear of wrecking everything during lockdown, but I'm going to come in on Sunday and fill the water reservoir slowly until we get between 65% and 70%; hopefully it will remain that way and I will add a little more if needed as the days go by. For those that have dry hatched in a Nurture Right: should I fill reservoir A during lockdown or B? Or both? right now humidity is staying between 26%-31% in my classroom.

Anyway, here are our eggs!

#1 "Charles" I got a video of him kicking his feet, maybe I'll figure out how to do all that on YouTube so I can show you guys.

#2 "Sharon" Little harder to see she is in one of the darker shells but I got a confident look at the veining to know she is okay!

I have the same incubator and I filled up both during lockdown, but the humidity can jump up a bit high when you first fill it, so watch for that
Also in case you didn’t know, keep the ventilation sliding thing open all the way

That is good advice, thank you. I will slowly fill both chambers until it reaches ideal humidity, and keep the vent wide open!

I set them around 9:30 am on January 15th. So I should then put them on "lockdown" on Sunday around 9:30 correct? Or should I do Saturday evening to be safe?

Or wiggly Winnie 😁

Ah! Love the update!! Great photos and the video of Hunnicutt!! I think you’ll be fine putting them in lockdown either on sat evening or sun morning. I have put some in lockdown a day early before and didn’t seem to make a difference. I’m so excited for your hatch!!! 🐣
