You could give a non stimulant-stool softener.
Massaging the crop really does help. Do it as often as you can at least a few times a day.
As a last resort vomiting a chicken is tricky at best. There’s a feel for it. It’s not just hanging a chicken upside down which can easily lead to aspiration/death.
The best I can explain it is you have about 3 seconds to get the crop from its base by the chest and squeeze it up & out. If it is something like a ball of long grass you’ll need to be prepared to pull it out at the same time.
The fact that there is
No odor is good. You’ve caught it early. I’m a big fan of coconut oil too. Why? Because mine like the flavor and will take a chunk of chilled coconut oil from the tip of my fingers (easy).
I too didn’t think I had any long grass in my yard...and I didn’t because my Roo ate it all. Good luck, as simple as it sounds I believe massaging the crop regularly until it’s emptied is worth the effort.

I am following this thread with interest in case I ever need this info. Your LO is beautiful! Glad she is improving. Have a question though. How exactly are you getting oil into her? Using a syringe? How much are you giving her, and how do you make sure she doesn't aspirate into her lungs? Thank you very much!

I would supply her with a little bit of chick grit as well, just put some where she can take a few pieces if she wishes.

When you checked it this morning, had she had access to any food water at all from when she went to bed until morning? Interesting that is was empty later in the day...
Are her poops still getting better?
Ok i will do that :)

She’d had access to water but no food...do you think it might have just been water in her crop? They are, no water now :)

Thank you very much, i read everything just incase :p i am using a small ended syringe...have had several poorly hens before who’ve need medicines...i open her beak gently and put the nozzle of the syringe in, i gently squeeze a little bit at a time making sure her head is not back or retreating into her neck...so its forward and almost a little down and i put abit in her mouth n remove the nozzle and she eats it up and i continue that...she is very small so i dont do big squirts :) and i do about 2.5ccs at a time, twice a day at the moment :) hope that helps

She does, she has a pot of water available at all times whether shes in the outside cage or inside at night...i meant her poo is not watery anymore :)
LOL Gotcha!
I would take the water out tonight, then check her bright and early to see if that crop is empty. If she had been drinking before you got out there to check her this may have been why it wasn't "empty" this morning.
