Incubation progress of Muscovy eggs

I don't give my ducks anything but there feed, oyster shells, crack corn, grains and oats. Plus whatever they want when they free range. Never gave them extra niacin.. The only time I would give them something else would be if they had a hard time hatching or they show some sign of deficiency...

Found the PERFECT SONG.

Now the race is on and here comes pride casportpony up the backstretch Heartaches chrissyr going to the inside

My tears are holding back
They're trying not to fall
My heart's out of the running
True love's scratched for another's sake
The race is on and it looks like heartaches chrissyr
And the winner loses all

George JONES. LOL.

Quote: Nice looking pair!

I don't know much about Muscovy colors/genetics, but I have seen some websites and ads that say chocolate is rare and from my personal experience I do know that chocolate drakes are rare. I started with a black/white pied looking pair and from them saw nothing but same and a few chocolate females, but then last year I got 4 chocolate drakes, which surprised me, lol.

Here are some of mine:

And this is the oldest chocolate drake along with some other, but don't remember what sex they were.

Kathy - I love the photos! I guess I have never seen a chocolate! He's beautiful! The article is very, very interesting, too. You get the blue ribbon for having interesting and appropriate articles!

Here are some pictures (In the span of time it took to get the ducklings in the box and photographed, each one pooped! They are poop machines!):

Brown/Black/Yellow - Breeze
Yellow with NO head dot - Skippy
Yellow with red head dot - Tulip
Yellow with green head dot - Alcatraz

They sure are precious.

They're adorable and it will be interesting to see what colors they turn out to be.

FWIW, those of mine that hatched yellow like yours end up looking like the speckled chocolate hen in this picture.
Note that this picture is of 4 chocolates, one black/white and of course one BBW turkey.

Here is the same chocolate male yesterday.

A chocolate drake w/white head.

And this is King Kenny, the one that started all of this in '09, lol.
