Is this pasty butt?

Huh. So I checked all the chickens butts a little while ago and I didn’t see anything. I did find a very large poop on the ground that had a very white end that was even a little bit yellow, so I wonder if that ended up being the problem. Still gave the chickens apple cider vinegar and one of those calcium citrate pills.

What I can see in the picture doesn't look to me like anything that would look like a normal dropping. You only need to give calcium to the bird having a problem, not all of them (just making sure there is no misunderstanding). The vinegar may reduce the calcium absorption from their diet, I would not give them that for now. There are many touted benefits of adding it to water, but since you have a possible calcium issue, I would try not to mix the two for now and negate any gains from the calcium supplement. I honestly stopped using vinegar many years ago in the water. My birds didn't like it, and I don't want to put them off drinking, especially in the hot summer months. Fresh, clean water is really all they need.

Follow up on this thread. The chickens finally laid whatever it was. It looks like it was supposed to be an egg. there’s no shell or sign of a yolk. Just a kind of membrane-like bag that was probably supposed to have been the shell.

I’m going to add some oyster shells to their feed and give them clean fresh water (no vinegar)

Thank you for your thoughts!
