Lash egg???

She’s been acting a lot better. Even eating feed, scrambled eggs and watermelon. She hasn’t eaten egg or dry feed in days. Yesterday she was eating plantain in the yard. She has way more energy. I don’t see her sleepy or trying to sleep, which is great. I know it bums her out being away from her friends. She’s still down weight (3.1lb). She only weighed 4. Like I said she is starting to eat regular foods again. I’ll have to just keep her around her friends as much as possible to graze and be a chicken 🐓.
Glad she is doing better! Make sure when this passes hopefully, make sure to supply them with good calcium to try and keep this away, it kept coming to my hen until it got really bad. One question, does her crop empty properly?

Yes. She just
Do you see any improvement in her now?
yes. She just doesn’t want to be inside. I think that might be the issue. I just don’t think 94 de

yes. We haven’t had an issue since we did the coconut trick. It almost seems like it doesn’t fill like the others. I see her eat. It’s weird. This whole thing is just weird.

Hi, its been a bit, how is Ester doing?
Hey! Thanks for asking. Today is the first day off the antibiotics. Last night was the first night back sleeping in the coop. It’s been super hot at night too :/ Got to start somewhere. She seems to be doing well overall. I didn’t see any unusual poop under the roost bars so that’s a bonus. She had a late snack after I gave her her last dose last night (which she also decided to poo right on my leg-looked good but 🤢). Just saw her eating some bugs. No lash materials since i posted about it (yay). I don’t expect to see any eggs from her though. At least not anytime soon. From what I’ve learned here and read I caught it early, which I’m thankful for. The only thing I don’t like is that she doesn’t seem to eat as much as everyone else. I feel her crop compared to everyone else at night and I can barely feel hers vs everyone else that feels like they are everything under the moon. I hope it’s just because she was ill and is recovering from. 🤞🏻

Ofc! Glad to know her poops and lash egg problems are gone, yeah she might take a bit until she starts eating well, it might be from the heat, she is probably still a little weak from the disease, so that might be why she is not eating as she should. If you have a Petco around you try getting her some meal worms she will LOVE those! Even the oatmeal they are in they absolutely loooove!

Yes. You’re absolutely right. I agree that it’s still being a bit weak still from the disease and that it will take some time to get better. Watching her I can see that she shys away from food when everyone else starts coming towards this feeder or that, or this bit of apple or this bit of scratch. I know she’s always been timid, but I’m sure she’s going to have an adjustment period having been seperated for that short time period. She looks really good
This morning. Her comb perked up a bit. It had flopped over, which we thought could have either been due to illness but also because it was just soooo large. But it’s still flopped but perky haha so yay!

I’ve been giving the chick vitamin/electalyte mix in her water. Just a dab of it in a dish so I can monitor her water intake. I know she takes that stuff, but it’s questionable if she turns her nose to others like rooster booster mix (at least right now). Gotta take what I can get. Some have bulked up and are working bits of grass out. The color ranges from that deep sick green to a mossy green/brown. The grass must have been what the chunks plugging her crop up. They aren’t as watery or mucus-like that I have seen. If she chugs away at the water, then that’s about the only time I’ll see the watery poop. I just wish she’d eat more. She was a lightweight bird to begin with. She’s still showing little interest in her favorites like egg yolk and scrambled eggs. What chicken turns that down 🤣.
Your girl sounds like she has what happened to my girl. With my girl Goldie it was like she tried to eat but couldn't, same with liquids. Her crop stopped emptying overnight, she'd drink but then flick her head and water and food would run back out. It was not sour crop it was never stinky, but when massaging it was not soft either. I took her to the vet they gave her a script for a antibiotic and a painkiller. The vet explained to me her "eggs" think of a lady period blood spots- were backing up in her for years instead of being re-absorbed back into her body or passing being made into eggs. Her rear was also not soft like usual. I had given her warm water dunks to try to help pass anything but it was impacted back further in her. I had never read about this in all my years of chicken keeping. The vet offered exploratory surgery without any guarantee she would be able to recover, (very costly also) as much as I loved my bird I had to decline. Goldie was diagnosed as have impacted ovarian ducts, I unfortunately lost her at 7.5 years old broke my heart. Good luck with you baby girl.
