Hi!
I just got a dozen of lavender X splash orpington eggs, setting them in the incubator tomorrow. I'm finding it hard to figure out which color the chicks might be - the breeder showed me chicks she had from the same mix and they looked lavender to me, definitely not black, but her birds are all a beautiful shade of light purplish grey. Every couple of generations she mixes them back to black to keep the color she says. I'm not sure if or when she's mixed in blacks up until now, I know she's planning on doing it later this year though. She has two splash hens, two lavender hens covered by a lavender roo.
My question is: has anyone ever bred a splash to a lavender before, and what colors came from these? I understand they will be considered barnyard mixes. I'm simply trying to understand the genetics behind it. Thanks!

Lavender rooster over lavender hens equals all lavender offspring
Lavender rooster over splash hens equals all blue offspring. They will be split for lavender.
I posted photo if my lavender splash orpington roo. Im interested in finding more hens for him. The 2 hens I have lay lovely pink eggs. Know anybody with lavender dpladh orpingtons

I have lavender splash roo breeding to kavender spladh hens. They have pink eggs. On occasion I will have blue chick, as I have a blue orpington roo as well. And I will have a black chick as well but predominately I have the lovely grey color chicks hatching that are very light colored with just hint of yellow at hatching to beautiful silver grey with hint of blue. So far the majority are splash abd within 3 weeks you can see the splash coming very strong. Their combs are very light shade of pink and stay lighter than deep read. I have 2 blue orpington hens that also have lighter pinker color combs but they predominately have blue chicks to black chicks. Their eggs are not pink. I usually only hatch the pink eggs. Out of 9 pink eggs I have 2 black chicks, all rest lavender or lavendrr splash. I will know in month which is which.

Lavender splash? Have pics?
I would think a lavender and splash would look pretty much white.

I have lavender splash roo abd lavender splash hens. I have hatched 2 seperate hatching but at that time I also had a blue orpington roo as well. Of the lavender colored chicks, every one has been a splash. I have gotten 3 blue chicks and 2 black chicks. Whether sired by blue orpington or lavender splash I have no idea. I placed my blue roo, so in 30 days I will only have lavender spladh roo sired eggs. The lavender eggs are all a lovely shade of pink, the chocolate orpington also has a pinkish tint to her eggs and I have 3 mauve orpibgton hens that are just starting to lay. Figure I might get a mauve splash hen? Will keep you posted.

It looks like those are plain splash birds. I think you're confused or misinformed about the lavender part. Tried to piece together the crosses and birds involved you mentioned also. Lav splash Xs Lav splash, Blue Xs Lav splash, Blue Xs Splash or Splash Xs Splash will not produce Black chicks. Something is off.
