I have a flock of 18 hens and 5 roosters. Two of my roosters are close to SOP but miss it by points on their combs (both have seven points and one is uneven.) the hens I have picked meet SOP. If I line breed them, as pictured, and flip roosters to create to Gen 4 batches, would this be a good breeding program?
This will be my first year breeding to a standard and not just breeding mutts for personal use.

Line breeding will intensify the faults in your flock. You'll want to hatch a bunch and cull heavily to keep the faults under control. Even then the fault will not go away fully. To start out a Spiral breeding system might work out a little better. It's like line breeding but might help eliminate or at least minimize some faults. Hatch and cull heavily, keeping your best in each family for breeding.
