Looking For Support

I'm NOT looking for what I did wrong, just support.
To ease your pain: we have had 11 out of 12 birds killed by bobcat (thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...-all-chickens-leghorn-cross-question.1345935/).

What I have not mentioned in that thread is that I have seen that bobcat sitting outside the fence watching chickens over few days and not making attempt to get in and therefore I *assumed* he can't/won't climb the fence... If you have done anything wrong it probably does not compare with this kind of mistake...

Had to nurse remaining injured chicken and hatch from eggs all over.

Have electric fencing now, which is *yet* to show its effectiveness (or lack of thereof) in the winter when wild things get hungry.

Hope this helps.

I’m sorry! That is so sad. I have a Partridge Cochin named Flappy Bird.

Flappy Bird <3 What a sweet name!
My 6 week old Silver Laced Cochin was pecked to death last night and I'm looking for support. Please post pictures of your babies (especially Cochins). I'm NOT looking for what I did wrong, just support.
I'm so sorry for what happened to your little chicky. We can't always predict those things, even in the best managed situation.

Here's my cochin roo cuddling his "adopted" kids. A barnyard mix cockeral and pullet. He's a big, big baby! I named him Rooster Cogburn.
