In starting to think what was a male goose is now a female can you help me? I have had a what I thought was a mating pair of geese for a year now. In the past few days I noticed my "male" acting funny and running under my porch a lot. I went to investigate and "he" was setting on 4 eggs and plucking feathers to put in the nest. "He" also would cover the nest before leaving to hide the eggs. I have candled the eggs and they are not fertile. The reason I suspected the goose was a male to begin with was cause he would hump my leg if I sat down and also seemed very dominate compaired to the other. I am now wondering if I have two females??? Help

could you get some fertile eggs any breed, and swap out the duds for good ones? Broodies work hard to hatch out chicks and raise them -it's a shame if she'd put in time and effort on eggs that will never hatch.
