Microplastics!

They must have known about plastics degrading for quite some time, but we are just hearing things about it. It will really cost a lot to clean up all this plastic trash everywhere. Some states prohibit taking water bottles to the dump.

Does anyone know which plastics have forever chemicals in them?
All plastics, except the plastics made from biobased source, are in our environment forever unless its burned.

Or
Do you mean PFAS?
PFAS are even worse than plastics. It cant be burned. Its in a lot of things we use where special requirements are useful.

I can hardly avoid plastics buying food. But I stopped buying chewing gum and I do avoid it when I buy clothes, furniture, flooring and paint. Cosmetics with plastic are avoidable too.
Bio-based and organic are a very upcoming thing where I live.

They knew a long time ago. But there was too much money to be made so they kicked that can down the road. The "road ends" sign is in sight.

My generation (baby boomers) threw a huge party for themselves. A few made a crap ton of money, most didn't. The cleanup will fall to the next few generations. So will the problems that are coming to light. Sorry kids, grandkids.

I'm glad I don't have children I have to look in the eye and say, "Yeah, we knew. Some of us tried do something about it, and to warn the powers that be, but we were shouted and voted down. Good luck with this mess. I'm sorry."

I count myself as lucky if I'm gone by the time the bill really comes due.

Yes, we only buy organic natural things here.
