Mary has dried blood on her comb.

I blame Peggy.

The chicks will be moving out to the new little coop this weekend. I've been chatting with @BY Bob about it and I think it'll be very good for them to be outdoors. So far, they've been in the sleepout where the pullets were a couple of years ago. It'll be nice for them to have more things to do and they'll have outgrown the big bird cage in a couple of weeks anyway.

Before that can happen, I have to purchase a weather proof extension cord for the heat plate and a weather proof box for the connection. Luckily it's coming up to Christmas, and people like putting on their lights displays, so there's lots of that stuff at the shop. I may pop in there tonight. I also need to adapt the way I attached the wide ramp to the little coop so it'll be easier to clean out. I'll do away with the hinges and switch to hooks.

It was a long time. She started sitting a week before she had eggs.
Lady Featherington and Glynda were 31 days on their eggs until they hatched. I saw no ill effects on them but they were much younger than Mary. I still think she will recover fairly quickly.

I should add that it took me a while to source fertile eggs for them. It was a standard 21 day incubation for the eggs. It was 31 days for the mums.
