Please forgive me for taking so long to thank you for selecting my boys, Lemon Boy & Merlin as winners. I'm one of the "forgotten" few who has had issues with email notifications regarding new posts on my subscription threads. I didn't know the contest was over but thought I would check this morning. What do you know~!? Lemon Boy is #2 & my sweet Merlin is #1 in Bantam ~!!!!!

Merlin is the "DI" (drill instructor) of his grow-out pen. He makes sure the newbies learn how to eat, scratch for bugs, take dirt baths & get in their Igloos at night. He roosts all by himself outside, keeping an eye on any stray chicks who don't remember the "lights out" rule. One night, one of his charges decided that he would roost next to Merlin. It was in January & very cold out. The baby snuggled up to
Merlin for warmth & Merlin put his wing around him. They stayed that way most of the night. Merlin is a treasure~!

I would love a colored pic of Merlin & Lemon Boy if & when you have the time. Thanks again, this was a great contest. Also congrats to all the other entries. We certainly have some great men to take care of our ladies.....

Both of your roosters are such beautiful boys! I just love Merlin though. As soon as I saw him I knew he was my pick. The others involved in judging agreed. He really stands out
