Darn - my incubator is occupied. I am student teaching right now in a 'inner city" (for around here) school. I am doing a whole thing on chicks as most of these kids are from poverty level homes and never get to see things like baby chicks. The curriculum theme that I was assigned to teach from is even called "Down on the Farm". Works well for me!

I need to whittle down the flock some anyway or find that new home I want out in the country.

I'll test incubate from your new chicks though next March

Congradulations on the hatch!!

I just hatched one Silkie, using our feed stores incubator. Look at the colors on this baby.

9 weeks old today... update photos on the 3 remaining silkies.
Any opinions on quality are appreciated. I'm still learning!

(sorry... for some reason the photos are a bit blurry...)

What happened to the other chicks? IDK anything about type but to my eye I like #3.

Oh how sweet!
Hmmmm.....my guess would be roo............roo........hen and #3 the prettiest.

Simetimes mine seem to have a narrow small comb .....but it is then usually a hen.
The evil silkies are again at work confusing evrryone!
