My peacock is circling me, following me, and just in general acting weird.

This is my first time owning peafowl, but it's been something I've wanted to do since I was 5. The peahen is independant and acts normal, but the peacock is always following us. I can't use the swing anymore because he's always right behind me or infront and it'd bump into him so I just sit on the chairs outside, where he'll always circle me making deep clucking sounds. I'm concerned for him and I feel like he hasn't really been sleeping much because he just spends all day and all night stalking us. When he isn't following us he's staring through our windows. He's there right now staring at me.

Peacocks are territorial in nature, combine that with no fear of humans and you have a situation like yours. A cock will claim a certain area be it small or large as his breeding ground. This is an area where they hang out and display hoping for a female to chance by looking to breed. The cock will not want another cock or another threat to his chance to mate so he will run off all others in 'his' area. This behavior will only be exhibited during the breeding season, the rest of the year he will be his same old loving self.

Ahh, I see. I got him during breeding season so I'm curoius how he'll act when he isn't like this. He actually is afraid of me, if I get too close he runs or jumps. Maybe he still wants to put on a brave front
