My rooster pretty boy was hurt by something

Yesterday I noticed that my rooster petty boy did not run away from me as I near him
when he did it was a kind of hopping run
so after a while I caught him in a net and checked his legs
I did not see anything broken

so I put him in a small run with food and water
he was strong enough this morning to drag himself out of his box and then give me
two three hard pecks on my gloves when I picked him up

i gave some rooster booster in his water and some wet oat meal flakes
he is pooping and seems alert

Any advice I plan to keep him there for a week

Why would you feed him oatmeal? He needs the complete nutrition of his regular feed. If he isn't interested in it, try wetting it with warm water to mske it kind of like a paste and see if that interests him, sometimes they like that as if it is a treat. It will also help keep him hydrated.

Could a dog have gotten hold of him? Look under his wings for signs of bruising. Chickens bruise green.

Don't forget to ptovide grit for digestion if you isolate him.

He has a bowl of scrach feed as well
As for a dog my yard is fenced in
And my dog mr blue gets along with the birds well
pretty boy did have a small drop of blood on his back

But I think a dog would do a lot more damage than that

Do you have another rooster? Is he walking better today? Is he on a balanced chicken feed? What all do you feed him? Can you see any green bruising or swelling on either of his legs, or any scabs on his foot pads?

A rooster should be on a balanced chicken feed, such as Flock Raiser. I have fed layer feed to my rooster with a flock of hens. Scratch grains are very low in protein and do not have all of the nutrients that he needs. Oats alone also is not a complete feed. Most feed stores have major brands and store brands of an all flock feed or layer feed. Do you have hens as well?

He got some coldslaw last friday and my neighbors give him table scraps occasionally
Going to give him some boiled eggs and vitamin b tomorrow and dust him with prozap will check his feet again

Legs are orange red no sign of mites

Couud have been a hawk I think
I keep elevated pallets and some dog houses for my critters to run under and into and my dog blue stays in the yard when I leave the house most times
