I recently rehomed some salmon favorelle hens and 2 roosters from a guy and they had a pretty good set up. They all looked healthy. We’re all very active no sneezing or anything because of this, I didn’t think there was any need for me to quarantine them. So a couple days later, I noticed one of the roosters had bubbles in just one of his eyes, but he wasn’t the rooster that I put with my main flock. I researched what bubbles in the eyes could mean and mycoplasma G is what came up. None of my existing birds are sick, There’s no sneezing, coughing, sluggishness, nothing and none of them appear to have swollen eyes, but I have noticed a drop an egg production. It’s only been about five days since I added them, but I was getting three eggs a day from five hens and now I’m getting like two, but I don’t know if that’s from stress from the new hens or if it’s mycoplasma.
I have some pretty expensive eggs hatching and I don’t want to expose those chickens to any potential diseases cause I will eventually plan on selling hatching eggs and everything and I know the mycoplasma can be transmitted through eggs so I was going to just cull my whole flock but with no other birds being sick, I’m kind of second-guessing if it is Mycoplasma
What could I do to know for sure? And would you suggest just culling and starting over?
