Mystic Onyx Egg Color

I had trouble finding pics of mystic onyx eggs so thought I would share as our babies just started laying. The dark brown eggs in the pic are what my mystics are laying.

The light brown are buff orpington. It's hard to tell in the pic but the ones that look white are actually blue from my easter egger.

That's great, those are lovely eggs!

Funny ALL the information I can find says they lay LIGHT brown eggs.

Coming from the same hatchery.. I can't help but wonder if they somehow got mixed up with the midnight majesty Marans.. according to egg color.. How many toes?!

Coming from the same hatchery.. I can't help but wonder if they somehow got mixed up with the midnight majesty Marans.. according to egg color.. How many toes?!

I was expecting light brown because of what I've read too, so this was an exciting surprise! The "green eggers" I bought from the same TSC look like they're actually amberlinks so it's very possible they mixed things up.

One has four toes and the other has five (handy for telling them apart )

It varies probably, I used to have a pair of mystic onyx and their eggs were about the same shade as my barred rocks/buff orpingtons maybe a bit lighter.

How old were they when they began laying? I have two, aged about 6 months old and no eggs yet!
