New member, new coop

Just about finished with my new chicken coop and I wanted to thank you folks for all the help. I have been quietly checking out all the great coops and runs....Thanks to all!

The coop is an 8 X 12 salt box construction. I'll have to take some pics of the inside.

I like it. I'm curious what's going on with the windows. Looks like there are screens, but something else as well....can't really tell from the pic.

Don't have any chickens yet....They are due to arrive tomorrow or Wednesday. I used pexiglass for the windows they swing out for warm weather, and behind I have 1/2 hardware cloth to keep out owls and such. there are vents with hardware cloth on both ends. I'll post a couple more photos later today.

Great design ! I luv the window idea - wish we would have thought of it - Very cool
we might have to make an upgrade -

We used some wire material we got a home depot -for our windows It is used for drywall its pretty strong -
and solid wood for a cover in winter -
I like to plexiglass idea better -

I really like the windows. Sort of looks like chicken stalls.
