Ok, everyone, coffee's on, pastries are set out, electric kettle has hot water for grits, oatmeal, tea and hot cocoa. For everyone who had a rough day yesterday, hugs, prayers and hopes for a better today. For everyone else, have a good one and I'll see y'all in a few hours. :hugs
I love that despite the time difference, you always make time for us.
It gives my day a nice start for sure.

Only popping in this weekend. Project going on. DH is off Monday too.

I'm not sure, Sassy....I haven't seen any RIRs lately. To me she looks gigantic, but I have mostly bantams aand Ayam Cemanis which are fairly small. She is big and fluffy and I guess kind of low to the ground, more so than my EE who is more leggy.

She's an awesome bird, she always makes those BUKK BAAA GUUUUKKKK!!!! noises that @Chickassan is so fond of, lol.
How do your AC do when confined? When I first started my flock I had a SH and almost got an AC. Had to return the SH after 1 week cuz she completely freaked out on a daily basis. She was used to free ranging everyday and dud NOT like being in a run all day. She was a total beast to all the others. But....in her defense I should have gotten a pullet.....sh e was 8 months old

Good morning. All this talk about mites is freaking me out. My D'uccle and my Buff CB have been looking a little pale so I went out this AM and checked them. Didn't see any mites or eggs and they arer eating and act ing fine. So maybe just look pale from the polar like weather. 10 degrees this morning. Making waffles and turkey sausage for breakfast. You are all invited!

Yes I've done it like that, I'll make you some instructions so you'll be set just in case.
Did you ever do it that way, with helium? Or know anybody who has? That sounds way less traumatic.

I was just texting with a friend who is a vet tech who has chickens. She works at an emergency vet hospital. It's about half an hour away though. BUt that is an option.
