So this morning my mom woke up to a surprise in her flock. A wild turkey was foraging with her birds. She resides in NJ and has a couple of birds of her own (including one turkey hen). Though turkeys are not that uncommon where she lives, we don't know where the bird came from. She allows my mom to get within 7 or so feet of her. Is this normal? Is there something she should be looking out for with this bird being in contact with her flock? Is this a female or male? Her birds also have contact with other wild birds that live in the surrounding trees and steal her chicken feed. My mom doesn't care if she hangs out with the flock but she wants other turkey keepers opinions on it. Thanks
