Our tiny hatch-a-long! Candy style!

As in another post, our girl Goldie (olive egger) is sitting. Her eggs were not fertile and today we were able to get some.

Ended up with 11 eggs :

6 buff Brahma
3 dark Brahma
2 eggers (from same lady we got our other EEs from yay!)

I got an incubator this past Xmas and haven't been able to test it. So we're going to try it out! ((It was hubby's suggestion to test incubator and let Goldie sit to see if it would help her demeanor and it has for now lol))

I did let incubator run prior to today. Even played with the light to see how bright it is.

Last night- Day 4?- we checked them. Most I can see the embryo. One yolk/bryonia still moving around a bit more than the others D2 I believe. With the exception of last night during a power outage haven't moved them except for the turner.

Here's one pic for now.

Goldie seems to be doing good as well although once a day we make sure she gets out to eat and back in right nest as sometimes a Brahma takes her place. Which is hilarious considering we have 18 boxes lol

Day 7

I don't think one is viable, and out of 11 total that's not bad. I did pull the ones out from under our broody as their development didn't look like she was turning them enough? Hopefully she'll get a chick or two when they start hatching -- that is our plan.

Although we've had a Brahma decided to try her hand at broodiness and while I want to break her, she has an injured foot and honestly I want her to stay off it.

Our two egger eggs. I'm guessing one died in last couple days. It had veins on it over the weekend. The other one is harder to see but I do see veins.

Slowly getting there! A few photos. Out of 11 total eggs, 9 are going strong. 1 wasn't fertile and 1 quit early.

We plan on putting a few under our broody Wed so she can go from egg to chick and fingers crossed it goes well (on her accepting them)
