I was expecting a shake offPenny walks away from my cuddles today
Now that Spring is approaching we are going to start doing PT to get her walking better.
I mean... I like to think she doesn't mind cuddles- but I also have to accept that she isn't very mobile so what choice does she have but to accept cuddles?!I was expecting a shake offdoes she mind cuddles? None of mine are cuddly, but they do get kisses and a nuzzle good night lol you will need to keep us updated on her PT! I am curious about that adventure for her, I hope it helps baby Penny.
Okay, I’ve been thinking about this. And Penny definitely needs a tote to be carried around in and also, if her adventures do happen to lead her to the beach, we need a beach photo shoot of herI mean... I also may or may not have spent the larger portion of the morning researching a carrier for Penny to transport her easier in travels. We live near the beach and she has told me she wouldn't mind going in the off season now that the weather is above freezing. I think the Vitamin D will do her good.
Imagine Penny's adorable face peeking out as I walk down the boardwalk

I mean... if Penny can't do a beach photo shoot- why even go to the beach lol. I just didn't think I would be the carry your chicken in a tote bag mom- but will be easier for Penny to get out of the Penthouse this Spring- so be it.Okay, I’ve been thinking about this. Has Penny’s appetite improved? The first thing that came to my mind was high calorie feed, like you were saying. What about something like oatmeal added to her feed? I know that isn’t the best for chickens, but it’s kind of carby, maybe that would help her put on some weight?I mean... if Penny can't do a beach photo shoot- why even go to the beach lol. I have also been thinking about Penny's diet- recently she does not have the appetite for the yummy meatballs I make. She has an appetite for other things ie. mealworms. I was wondering in order to have her gain some weight to switch to a weight gaining feed. Any thoughts?
Penny is eating like a champ! The hunger strike is over. I feel responsible, She was doing so well that I did not refill her herbs at the vet and had been just feeding her regular food. Her herbs make her little brain work better- so now that I know we can't skip those she is back to eating and pooping like a normal chicken. I did think to offer her some scratch to be a bit more caloric here and there. I am sure she would love some corn lol.Has Penny’s appetite improved? When my ladies go through molt and won’t eat, I bring them soupy mash with a raw egg and canned chicken mixed in. Sometimes chopped blueberries or tomatoes help keep them interested. Does Penny like berries or tomatoes? Maybe adding chunks of those to her food ball to entice her?
