We are new to chickens. Nearly my entire yard is covered in myrtle( periwinkle, vinca minor...whatever you wish to call it). Is this going to be okay for my confined chickens? They will be in a chicken tractor which I will be moving each day. City ordinance says they MUST be confined in the back, which is all myrtle. Should I start digging it all out?
We of course have a lovely dandelion and violet covered front lawn.

Welcome! I believe that those plants are toxic, and my free ranging chickens don't eat them. I wouldn't confine them over toxic plants, which will encourage eating in spite of the taste/toxicity. Your front yard is perfect! Mary

Thanks Mary! Ive more experience with the free range crew that would leave it alone. I was worried if they were confined over it they'd get sick but want sure.
