Poo pics blood? Or maybe something else?

I went to feeds and needs and they sent me to the vet. My vet for the cats sent me to a different vet. And i got it by saying i think they have coccidosis. And that was it. She asked how many and she got me a bottle of Amprol.

I have yet to dose my birds. Dorian is hitting here tomorrow and i've spent the whole day getting ready. It shoukdnt be too bad just a ton of rain where i am.

Wish you and your flock the best during the storm!

I get most of my Meds from Allivet.com, but theres some that need a vets prescription and there isn't one here corid is one you can order without a prescription, but Tylan you can't, so ordered in Liquamycin La-200 100 ml which is a broad spectrum antibiotic
As long as the vet will allow it, they will call to get prescription from them.

Sounds like you've got your hands full, but I'm thinking tonight might be a good time to give all the chicks a direct dose, since it should be easy to get your hands on them, while they're roosting. Then you will be ahead of the game, and dose their water tomorrow.

Direct dose? I was only told to put it in their water.

I was going to wait until after the storm and divide them up a bit I have 3 different pens but the other 2 are too small to keep them in all day.

Then the babies wouldn't be kept away from the water.

My waterers are the 18 liter jugs for a water dispenser that have been stuck in a 5 gallon bucket and I would rather use something else for medicated water.

I’m in Canada too and have never seen it OTC.
The large animal vet that I use for my horses will sell me things for the chickens in a pinch, but she doesn’t like doing it.
Corid I was able to order off Amazon.
Other meds I’ve ordered from “All Bird Products”.
I considered ordering it off the internet, I'll have to look next time before I drive all the way into town.

Hope that Dorian is not too bad to you. I think that treatment is wise especially if birds appear ill. To me it almost looks as if they have been foraging on wild berries and pooping out seeds and undigested pulp. That being said - 'better safe than sorry'. Good luck with your birds and Dorian. I have a friend who is on a cruise ship in your area at the present time.

By the time it gets to me it'll be mostly rain. Berries is a possibility. But, it seems unlikely to me with it being in 2 different groups.

Often when a bird is really going down fast, with corid, it is recommended to give a few drops directly into the mouth. But it's ok to just put it into the water, per directions. Don't wait to divide them up, it won't hurt your older birds at all. Use whatever waterer you have, it won't cause any problems there either.
