Once you make your own rich stocks you won't ever want to use that grocery store stuff again. And it is so simple to make. Even when you cook chicken and have the scraps after a meal you can boil it down in your crockpot and make awesome stock.

You can't mess it up. Honestly. Let the bones cook all night. You don't even have to add onion. If it is light colored in the morning you can top it off with water if it has cooked away and let it go all day until you are ready to strain it and add veggies/noodles or whatnot for a hearty soup. Or you can freeze it for later. Adding all of the vegetable scraps just makes a richer darker broth.
 
Wildsky, you need to go to the threads with the recipes and look up all Miss Prissy's posts!! I never made yogurt, butter,. mayonaise, cream cheese or yogurt until I ran across her thread. I didn't think I could do anything like those she had posted!! Now I feel like I can make anything. She even has step-by-step photos!! You cannot go wrong and it sure builds up your esteem!! I would send like to send her a BIG THANK YOU.
