This is silly, but my husband may have solved the marten problem.Rooster can only do so much and with any predator with teeth there isn’t a lot they can do to protect themselves Or the flock. I’m sorry your hen was killed. But the best remedy is a safe secure pen and coop
I read about the traps, and that you should set them up in gloves because martens are super sensitive to human scent. To which he said that if they hate human scent we should make the coop smell like humans and he peed on the chicken coop door.
For the past 3 days we had 6 eggs daily, where before we had 2 or 3 tops. I'll have to open the chicken coop in gloves now. Ew.
