4 CATURDAY.
Freya investigating the yard work.​

Even though I'm not spending as much time with the chooks as I used to, they still come running.​

CATURDAY.
I woke up to all 3 cats in a line down one side of the bed. As Freya seems to hate all males this is unprecedented.
Unfortunately Marlow thought I needed grooming &gave my face a wash to wake me up.

The front garden is coming along. I'm about to order sandstone pavers for a small sitting area.

The cats enjoy some outdoor time 1st thing in the morning. Freya is leashed as she absolutely cannot be trusted to stay in the yard.​

Why not?

Several reasons:

• I'm back @ Uni. My computer got hacked the 2nd week & was out of action for 2 so I have been playing catch~up all semester.
• Our weather has been abysmal. It has either been bucketing down for weeks @ a time or steamy hot. Neither is conducive to my being outdoors.
• My outdoor time has been spent on other priorities. The front yard is not just about aesthetics. I need to get some serious shade happening before next summer to get the temperature down.
• Any physical work is a slow old process so everything takes time. It's not just that I'm older, I don't have the physical strength to do certain things for long periods of time.
• To do certain things, even the fortnightly shop, is a day long exercise due to the distances I have to travel.
• Lastly I don't want to impinge too much on Leonard. He's wonderful & I'd like him to stay that way.

On the plus side I usually spend some time with them when I let them out in the morning. It's the coolest part of the day. They are excited to see me & that's when I bring scraps & clean out the water dishes. Everyone seems super healthy just now so the open fronted coop seems to be working out ok.
