I keep hearing about how people use rock salt in a shot gun and it sounds easyer said than done.where or how would you even get rock salt loads, and it sounds like a great way to ruin your barrel.im just woundering how this works.

Thanks

When I was in high school, I had a friend who applied rock salt loads liberally to a burglars back side at about 15 feet. The sherrif's deputy who responded just went to the emergency room and only had to wait about 20 minutes before the guy showed up.

You can open up a regular birdshot shell end, dump out lead and then fill back up with the salt. Good if you have a bad neighbor dog getting after your stuff, that you don't really want to kill.

My grandpa would fill his shells with rock salt to use on people dogs that would bug the animals it doesn't kill them but it hurts like heck, also he used it on a few mens backsides that tried to steal something it is a good weapon if you don't want to kill something...

I had a boyfriend many, many years ago that told me about the time he was nailed with some rock salt. He didn't get the full brunt of it but he did say it hurt like hell when he took a bath that night!

He was busted hunting on private property.

Rock salt? I have my DS's paintball gun - for the warning shots. If something is really obnoxious, the other son has his shotgun loaded with for real stuff - thankfully, haven't even thought I needed it yet. We're in a subdivision (so practice shooting the shotgun is no-no), so lately I've been educating the neighborhood varmits about my increasing accuracy with a paint ball. It is singularly gratifying. pthup! pthup! hee hee hee
