Scaly Face Mites?

Well, Matthew is definitely feeling better! His face is less white, and just looks like pale skin; he's been coming out of the coop in the evenings, but Elrond is still chasing him around. How long do I need to continue treating with the Miconazole? I've been doing it twice a day since Friday evening.
@Wyorp Rock
I'm glad he's feeling better.

I'd continue to apply the Miconazole at least once daily until the skin clears up.

Being chased about can be stressful and this may be one reason why he's feeling a bit poorly as well.

Is there a way he can have his own space with a couple of hens of his own once he's recovered?

Okay, so help me out. Matthew was doing better, just a bit of swelling left, but yesterday morning I come out to find this. His eye can only open a little bit, and seems to have shrunk back into his skull because his eyelids are so swollen. It's only on his left side. Is there anything I can put on it to help him? I don't know if I can continue to use the Miconazole on it, because it is his eye, but I don't know if it's the fungus causing the swelling. He did get his face pecked at two days ago, but I don't think they got his eye.
I'm trying to find him a 'recovery center,' but winter just decided to make a dramatic appearance, so my options are very limited.

Have you seen mosquitoes lately, because it looks now like he may have fowl pox? It is spread by mosquitoes, and lasts about a month. There is no treatment, but some paint Betadine or povidone iodine on the scabs. Here is some reading:

Not outdoors, but I have seen at least one in the house.
Ok; none of my others have it, so what precautions do I need to take for them?
Thank you!

What is your general location? I would also put some Terramycin or plain Neosporin ointment into his eye after cleaning it with saline or eye wash twice a day. There is no treatment for pox. For any not exposed to it, there is a fowl pox vaccine online. I would not use that unless you are in the Deep South or a tropical location where pox is common. Once they get the pox, and recover, they are immune to it in the future.

Make sure that he is able to eat and drink, since he probably cannot see well. Hold a small bowl up to his beak. Wet feed with extra water, watery scramble egg, are all good.

My general location is near central latitude America in central time zone. Mosquitos are beasts around summertime, but this cold snap has knocked 'em pretty hard, I think. I don't plan on vaccination, because all of the others are probably exposed anyway.
He is definitely still eating and drinking, and once I get back home, I plan on making him some scrambled eggs to get some high protein into him.
I've read that recovery period is about a month for a single bird, is that correct?

Yes, it can take 3 weeks or so for recovery. Avoid handling scabs which can spread the pox virus. Wet fowl pox, which causes yellow lesions inside the beak and throat, makes it more serious. It can occur occasionally.

Poor guy can't get a break can he.

I agree, it looks like Fowl Pox now.

What do you mean trying to find him a recovery center?

If possible, separate the guy out to his own pen so he can recover without having to worry about being pecked or get into a fight with another rooster.

Provide him with fresh food/water.

No kidding!
Okay; I just finished getting Betadine on him; he did seem to perk up a bit after that, or at least his eye opened more.
That's what I meant - a place for him to be on his own to recover. I'm working on it, but my options are limited.
In a few minutes, his egg should be done, and I'll take that out to him and see how he is doing.

Ah, I see, yes it can be a challenge to find a space or make one in hurry.

An Extra Large kennel/cage can be used for a few days. Fence or section off a portion of run or coop corner may be something to think about. But colder temps do need to be considered, so he needs to be where he's out of wind/cold.

Do you have a building or garage? Maybe section a place for him there?
