Show off your Old English Game Bantams!!

Awesome! Do you have pics of the parents?
Not the greatest pics of them but probably the best I have right now. Taken when they were 4 1/2 months old in a rabbit hutch whilst I worked on their coop.

Very nice, they're beautiful!

Does crossing the Lemon blue rooster to the blue and splash hens make more Lemon blues, and Lemon blue sports?
Thank you! I had another cockerel that was really dark blue and had the most amazing posture, but a raccoon got him!!!

The hens are also Lemon. I think the black version is Gold Black? Can't remember off the top of my head.

Oh no! That's terrible. Leave it to the raccoons to completely change your breeding plans....🙄

Oops, my bad. Interesting, I'm not familiar with that color.

I got them when the Mille Fleurs I'd ordered were not available. Didn't really want blues due to them not breeding true but they were all they had available. At least the Red Pyle I'd ordered were available!

Lucked out with the RP, I'd bought five and got four hens and one roo. With the LB I got three males and two females, one which is a 'sport' splash.

Hoping to get Porcelain and Mille Fleurs in 2025. Might actually sell the LB.

I remember that. That sucks. Hopefully you can find some Millies, and Porcelains next year.
How'd those Red Pyles turn out?
That's one thing I really like about Lemon blues, Blue reds, and BBS (Blue, Black, Splash) They don't breed 100% true, so to me you get more diversity in your hatches.

Those odds aren't really that bad, actually. I usually have trouble getting more then 5 pullets per hatch. LOL!

Thanks, keeping my fingers crossed!!!

The Red Pyles aren't colouring up as much as I'd hoped but that's probably because they're still young. At least I hope that's why! We'll see in the Spring. Funny thing though, that cockerel's crow sounds like "Shave and a Haircut"! :lau

Here's where we differ, I like continuity in my hatchings! lol! If I get a pure colour, I want the babies to be THAT colour!

I also tend to get more males than females overall. Wonder if it's a breed thing... 🤔

I’d love to get Millie Fleur OEGB. I have porcelain. Unfortunately though my hen got killed, so my plans have change to ordering some porcelain eggs off eBay and breeding my porcelain boy back to my recessive lavender and mottled hen.
