Hi guys, a friend just called, she lost a chicken last night. It had fluid coming from nose and mouth, and labored breathing. What can she treat the rest of the flock with??

She should check the crop to see if there is a crop impaction or sour crop, since this could cause liquid to come up from the crop.
More than likely it could be a respiratory disease such as infectious bronchitis, MG, ILT, coryza, or others. Some of these diseases are caused by viruses, bacteria, or from fungus infections. When a chicken dies, it can be good to send the refrigerated remains into the state vet for a necropsy to find out the cause of death. Here is a good link to read about those and other common diseases: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044
