I purchased these two as unsexed silver laced ( chance of blue laced )
Early on all my google expertness leads me to think both are boys.
Equal length flight feathers.
Head hanging
Slow to feather
Overall attitude

Now this photo shows them both at just over 4 weeks. The closest chick has less red around the neck with more grey colouring but it also has noticeably thicker legs and more of a rooster stance all round.

Any thoughts on these two ?
More curious than anything at this stage.

At four weeks, the wings on the chicks are short, so I'm going with boys. Typically you would see the wings extend past the butt, and some prominent tail feathers if they were girls.

Keep us posted!

If by 8-12 weeks their combs aren't growing and turning red, they're likely pullets! Wyandotte cockerels seem to have quick comb and wattle growth, from what I've seen.

They're still a few weeks too young to say one way or another.

Feather sexing can only be done if the birds are specifically bred for it. And as far as I'm aware, wyandottes are not bred for it. My BLR wyandotte pullet took forever to feather in compared to my other chicks. But if you got them from a breeder (as opposed to a hatchery) you could always ask what their experiences are with their chicks re feather growth.

Ok the two a looking different now
I thought both cockerals originally
But one has a noticeably redder comb and waddle along with overall thicker legs.
Also noticed the one with a red comb also has a blacker neck while the other has more of the silver pattern. Unsure if that means anything.
