Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

I have had a pot of coffee so far and if anything I think I'm getting more sleepy! I bought the first and second season of house of cards and can't stop watching it. Thursday night I got no sleep an last night I got maybe 3 hours. I'm crashing bad now lol
People who say acting isn't a real job have not seen any of Kevin Spacey's work. That man is incredible.

He really is! He can play any part in any film. In house of cards not only is he the star but also the executive director. His style of acting would have to take a toll on your body though. He embodies the character and totally becomes that person.

But it's amazing to watch. I love his way of breaking the fourth wall. It's captivating to watch. Last night was Forrest Gump, now I'm craving American Beauty for tonight. Or the Usual Suspects.

American beauty is such a good movie... A little scary since I have a house full of teenage girls but still a good movie lol. Have you seen tom hanks in captain Philips yet? Tom is a good actor too

Who you calling a rat?!!?!

I'll have you know that rabbits are Lagomorphs, not rodents. Humph! *stalks off*

So sorry!!!! My humblest apologies!!!

Being from the south there's not much I haven't ate. But I don't believe I can eat guinea pigs. To much like really furry rats.

Love squirrel and rabbit. Sorry bunny lady I have had pet rabbits that I didn't eat to.

Tea chick I'm happy that the kids are doing better.

Alaskan how many squirrels to make a jacket? Lol.

Thanks! =)

@TeaChick As requested, another segment of Cooking and Carpentry with Felix.

This is one of my girlfriend's mother's recipes, and I've never made this myself, but from memory and judging by how she usually makes things, here goes:

Potato-black salsify-Pecorino casserole

~1kg potatoes
100-200g black salsify (I'm not sure about the amount here, but about one regular sized salsify)
100g Pecorino cheese

1-2 liters of milk (full fat, don't really know how much you need, but enough to cover dish while cooking it)
1-2 dl cream
salt
pepper

Slice the potatoes and chop the salsify, throw them in a pot, and cover with milk. Boil until the potatoes are almost cooked through. Pour away the milk, and transfer the cooked vegetables into an oven pan. Grate the pecorino, and mix it into the vegetables. Season with salt and pepper. Pour on a bit of cream, and put it in the oven (maybe 175 deg C), and let it cook for about 30 minutes, adding cream every once in a while to keep it moist. You could probably skip the cream and use the milk that was poured away from the veggies earlier for a slightly healthier version. I don't think it would affect the taste that much.

Thanks! I copied and pasted it into the Recipes folder on my desktop (use those a lot). But I have a question: What's a "salsify"?

@TeaChick I've never actually eaten any reptiles. Does it really taste like chicken? I wouldn't believe so. Now shark, that I've eaten. Tastes like p*ss. Which isn't surprising since they urinate through their skin.

I think that in Ecuador they still eat millions of Guinea Pigs annually.

@Alaskan Could you send one of those squirrel skin jackets my way too? Sounds nice and warm.

As much as anything else tastes like chicken. So, you're right, not really. I've had shark steaks too; I enjoyed them. I would try to find either fresher or aged; I had shark from Publix (IDK if you have those where you are, but I would try somewhere like that, somewhere that they know what they're doing and they do it right).

rabbits are not rodents. They are lagomorphs. They chew the cud. They also eat different stuff (natural diets, but nowadays it seems the feed companies want us to believe EVERY animal on Earth should live off grains).

I stand corrected. Thank you.
Yeah, it's not just the feed companies; it's the grocery stores, USDA, FDA, etc.....(ppl too, IOW)

why wouldn't they taste the same? They are very similar in their composition...scales and all that lol.
I think things that have the same ancestors probably taste similar to eachother.

Wait...cannibals say people taste like pork!

I think with the junk most people are putting in themselves, the taste won't even come near how good pork tastes.

I could use some of that weather soon, can you imagine what +31deg C feels to a Finn?

What is that in F? Like 60? 75? Sounds nice, a little on the chilly side to me....Native Floridian

[/S]Good morning all! My tablet has not had enough coffee and won't let me quote what I wamted.

@TeaChick, sosorry about Snodles.

. The choices are never easy.

Alligator taste to me more like pork than anything else. The meat is kind of that grayish tint that pork has when cooked. I've had shark that was pretty tastee, maybe the person preparing yours didn't do it properly.

On the hme front, already almost 80 at 8:30. Yuck. Got acool front coming around Tuesday saysthe weatherman.

Most important news: I candled last night and still have 55 eggs in the bators. About a dozen of those are hopefuls as they were too dark for a good look.

I'm IT challenged...
Thanks. She's actually doing better; as long as she doesn't give up, I won't. Whatever the lump was, it's smaller for the corn oil enemas and "mashing" I was doing on it. IDK what that means,
hu.gif
if anything, but I'll take it.

With Shark, I'm thinking KISS and/or use a good recipe. KWIM?
-Yes, I live in that variety of "yuck" as well.

Me, I would say toasty warm.... But if you are like my kids, you are probably suffering from heat prostration.

I tried to eat breakfast before having my coffee.

I poured myself a bowl of fruity pebbles, and didn't notice until after I poured in the milk.

So yep, no kids were close, I had to eat it.
Bleck!!!
You need a dog...

Snoodle update:
She's more and more perky and trying to move around more.
I'm giving her crumbles with plenty of water (and more water whenever we go outside, me and DD) and I'm putting Kefir whey in it (b/c the yogurt is for the ppl in this house, not my rule).
Also, bad news, I lost my Orpington pullet (it was the cockerel that seems to have been bitten by fire ants, but it's the pullet who turned up dead this morning). He was laying on her (like they normally do); I think he was trying to keep her warm....
hit.gif
I'm so sad for him. I don't have any other chicks his age/size. IDK if I can put him in with the Cochin Bantams that are 2 mos older (but about the same size, give or take), but he'd still be the too-many-th cockerel in that pen....IDK what to do...
