Squirt hawk with hose?

Yes, I appreciate that. I was wondering if spraying water at a hawk from a distance is an effective means to scare it off during an attack.

Even if it worked, what are the chances you're sitting out there with a hose already turned on, prepared to squirt a swooping hawk? An attack only takes a few seconds.

Most people keep their chickens in pens, use netting or provide lots of hiding places.Some even use guardian dogs .Attacking Hawks with anything can lead to a fine or land you in jail.

Hawks are Federally protected but chickens are not. Not everyone handles losses the same way which is why some of us won't even consider free ranging .
