One reason I'm getting away from orps is because they are slow to mature and for me slow to be able to accurately sex.
Some times its easier with some but for me I never say 100% until the males get hackle and saddle feathers.

This is the most help I have ever seen on Jubilee.... I get yellow chicks and chipmunk color. If I read you correctly, I should retain only chipmunk color chicks for next generation for better color? Attaching a few pictures of my adult jubilees...

I have started breeding English Jubilee Orpingtons this year. Last year I purchased eggs from a reputable breeder and hatched out the parents for this year. I've hatched several chicks out. However, I have had 2 chicks that hatched out completely light yellow and have not developed the markings on the wings that the other jubilees have at this point. What would these chicks be? We do not have any chickens that we were breeding that would hatch this way and everyone was separated into their own breeding pens so I know they came from my Jubilees.

I posted in the “pullet or roo” forum but I’ve gotten mixed reviews between this site and chicken people offline.

I’m looking for those with breed experience to help me out. Is this for sure a roo, or worth waiting another few weeks? No crowing yet and I don’t see hackle/saddle feathers. I heard hens can have large combs too? (wishful thinking) but anyway, fully prepared to give him up.

What do you think, is 9.5 week old Rose really a Ross?

So,I have no idea if there are any Jubilee orpington people left on here I have two pullets and 2 cockrels.

I have a Jubilee Orpington pair, which I will definitely try breeding. But I also have lavender and chocolate Orpingtons. I'm wondering what I would get with them. I can't find anything that indicates what genes are actually playing in the Jubilees. My suspicion is that the lavenders will give me blacks, but I have no idea what the chocolates will give, nor what to expect in the next generation.
