I am in Deer Park, north of Spokane. I am surprised how many local people have them. Other than marans, legbars seem like the most common non-hatchery breed here.

My big blue eggs are awesome. Since the girls are finally done molting I'm getting 5 - 6 egg per week from each of them. Unfortunately we said good-bye to our rooster so we aren't breeding pure Legbars. I think we'll go for some Olive eggers this spring. My Marans laid two whole eggs this week. LOL I love the color and her personality as well. The CCLs are snobs, but the Marans takes it to a new level - she's a princess snob.
Hi FMP-I did CL x leghorn. The pullets are genetically pure legbars and indistinguishable from pure birds. Since legbars are a composite breed, I used leghorns since they are one of the main parent breeds.
