The Moonshiner's Bootleg Incubator Reviews And Discussions

I got my MatiCoop X 30 today from the Ebay seller, brand new as stated, for a great price, laughed at the instructions, but they were understandable. I think my brain shut down for a few seconds and i was doing it wrong at first. When I realized what I had been doing, I did a huge eye-roll at myself, LOL. Been a long day after a hard night for me so I guess I was not at full capacity. I figured it all out before anyone replied so I changed this post, sorry for the confusion. I'm doing a test run to see how it's going before I get my very anticipated hatching eggs this coming week. It is really a cool design. It is working perfectly, thanks for trying to help!

I saw your post but didn't respond as I don't have one, yet. So I was no help....

Glad you got it sorted out and much good luck with your hatch.

Thanks so much! It's actually very easy to operate, but when I'm tired, I find I read things differently than the writer was intending, especially instructions that are obviously not written by someone that English is their first language; maybe my brain works in strange ways. I do make things harder on myself than need be at times.

Maticoopx website is unavailable indefinitely for the 30. I've noticed about 4 for sale on ebay, the listings say 30 but pics and numbers say 20.

Real sketched out by it, especially if a 20 shows up at the door and I've just over paid what the website is selling them for.

yeah, sometimes you have to contact the seller to be sure what they intended to list, which makes it harder to beat someone else to the punch. I think some sellers confuse themselves or have several listings for the same thing, but when they are offering a different version, like the 20 instead of the 30 or vice versa, they forget to change the title of the new listing, if that makes sense. I've had that happen and had to wait for the seller to respond b4 I made the move to get the item. This is why i make a screenshot of the listing and save the photos, in case I get the wrong thing.

Well I'm a guy, so first rule is...instructions go in the garbage until I can't figure it out, then I have to go rummaging thru the garbage in the end. 🥴

Just an update on the test run of the MatiCoopX: I had calibrated my analog reptile hygrometer to test the Hova Genesis so I know it's correct. I put it in the new incubator to test that and it's right on the mark for humidity. I was using a liquid thermometer that came with the Hovabator so I put it in the MatiCoop. The incubator temp is set to 99.58 of course. The liquid thermo says 100* or just beginning to edge over that. That test thermo is in one of the egg trays for the test. My Hovabator was preset to 100* and generally runs about 99.6*-99.9*, occasionally going over when the humidity drops so anywhere between 99.5* and 100* should be fine.
Still thinking on the dry incubation. I may put in no more than a teaspoon of water to start the hatch and see how it's reading then. I've always done 30-45% for first 18 days, but I'd like to keep it below 35%
