Perdy is gorgeous it has to do with hormones. Hi everyone hardly can get here but when I can just want to say hi! Have to tell y’all this I usually have to keep my old Muscovy females away from my young Runner drake he just won’t leave them alone but yesterday I opened their gate just hoping Joshua was settling down now that we’re into fall well I was cleaning out the water bucket and heard a commotion looked around the corner and my 13 yr old Muskie was giving Josh a good work over he was trying hard to get away but she was holding on beating him with her wings I think he may have cried uncle because today they have been all together and he hasn’t messed with them. It’s about time!! One of these days I’ll be back for good Lord willing I sure do miss you all.

That's great that Joshua is finally settling down for you. It was great to see you on here and gosh how we have Missed YOU!!!

What keeps me going is that the SON does shine through. Without God in my life I would have lost it a long time ago. I am truly Blessed.

I'm not an expert, by any means, but I have read that if the female has a reproductive issue, and becomes infertile, she will grow a "dangler", a drake feather, start with the froggy quack(like froggie from the little rascals), and turn into a drake, IF there aren't enough drakes around already. But then again, maybe the humidity is curling her tail feather.....

Poor little Joshua. I been on the receiving end of a beat down from a female scovie....I didn't like it. Now when they run at me, like they bout to throw hands...err...wings.....I just point at them and say no ma'am not today. We are not gonna act like this today. We are gonna be civil and act like nice people, not like hoodlums. Man who raised y'all? Absolutely NO manners. . Usually they look at me weird, like oh no you didn't just point your finger and say things to me?!? Do you have any idea who I am? Nobody dares speak to and act that way towards a mighty Muscovy. Then it's a whole discussion, with the hens just dismissing me and making me feel unheard and disrespected, BUT also NOT flogged. It's a win win situation.

that’s exactly how i talk to my gander Charlie lol I had to pin him down for a few minutes yesterday he’s been so onery lately . is breeding season starting early this year ?

I've only had roosters try to attack me (and the occasional rabbit). They don't last long. I do not tolerate aggression. Of course I do take into consideration the season.
