I have the one and she is such a Sweetie Pie. I got mine from Metzer's last summer. She gets along well with everyone else in my flock and is a golden one. Really pretty. I hope yours turn out to be golden also. Did you get yours sexed or hatch them out? Hopefully they are females if you wanted hens.
We got eggs from Italy (next door country), I think we'll have 4:8 drakes : hens, something like that... but it's really an un-educated guess right now. Two more weeks and we'll hear quacking and then we'll be getting somewhere.

That's great that you got that many to hatch out. They are sooooo precious. I think if my eggs had not come from my backyard flock they would not have hatched as the incubator I have is so off the chart and the conditions the eggs have gone through. I have been very fortunate.

Ahem... We think the Welshies are considerably larger and more developed than last year's Khakis at 2 weeks old. Could also be selective memory, we'll see.

The outside water bowl is deep on one end and shallow on the other.

We're switching them now from starter feed (23% protein) to lower protein content (16% ish).

Where is @Miss Lydia , is she OK? Did I miss some news?

She is still at her home in the western North Carolina mountains, but she still has no Internet service ever since seven months ago when hurricane Helene destroyed that area with many deaths and terrible destruction. Yard was damaged, but her home was OK. Her animals are fine. Her family is well however her Internet company is giving them the runaround. They even try to start charging them again for Internet service and they still haven’t repaired it.

I told her you asked about her and she’s happy and said that’s so sweet and she really misses being here
