I can see that.You're in a border town. You have options for good mex from every roach coach on every corner. Chipotle isn't as good as you can get local.
However, as you get further from the border, the options get worse, and Chipotle's a lot closer to authentic than taco bell or the "white people tacos" brand of Mex that thrives North of OK and East of Colorado.
I lived in California at that time though. It still was popular enough to survive especially considering the area I lived in meant "instant expensive" if you mentioned the name.
There is good Mexican food here but I am not as big of a fan of Mexican as I am of burgers.
