Things you wish you could say

To this day I can't tolerate most chemical odors at all, some of them nearly cause an anaphylactic reaction in me. There are aisles in WM I can't go near - laundry and candles, for example.
I totally avoid the laundry soap area but it isn't as bad now as it used to be since most of the laundry soaps are now sold as liquid rather than powder.

Yeah, those stink, for the most part, to me. I don't get a physical reaction, thank goodness.

I sure hate the smells in the garden aisle. The insect repellents, the chemical fertilizers, etc.

Is that true for most/all floral scents? What other scents do you avoid?
Russian olives in bloom are a killer as is sagebrush when it blooms. Plum blossoms in the spring are tolerable as long as I don't stay downwind of them for too long.

I actually like the smell of the smell of the Crandall Clove currants when in bloom. They smell like cloves. Up close where it is really concentrated it does stink.

Citrus blooms (grapefruit, lemons, limes, oranges, tangerines, etc.) are deadly for me.

True but now there are brands that REALLY double down on the scents. Gain, gag! And you can buy crystals to ADD to your laundry to boost the smell and keep it "fresh" for WEEKS. And there are the dryer sheets. I buy the scent-free, but they absorb the scents from the other brands on the shelf! 😫

I used to live the smell of Stargazer lilies, but now ... even one in a room is nauseating to me. ☹️

I'm allergic to most perfumes and it makes me gag when one of them opens their car door 50' away.

One big problem is that they don't understand that their nose goes scent blind to that scent once it has been on for a short period of time and they keep adding more and more so they can smell it.
I'm pretty sensitive to smells as well. I don't have a lot of perfumes and I don't use them often, but the ones I have are good quality that don't smell like chemicals. I spray it in front of me once and walk into the spray. Then I put my clothes on over it. That's it.

My tenant from Saudi got me some called "Rose the Finest" and it smells just like real roses.

I only use non-scented products. It really ticked me off when products I used and really liked decided they needed to scent their products to keep up with the idiots.

One use I have found for the scented dryer sheets is to hang them in shrubbery or trees that I want the deer to leave alone. They hate the smell as much as I do.

After my mother's funeral they brought the flowers to my house. There was a stargazer bud in one of the arrangements. I woke up in the middle of the night to a horrid smell and difficulty breathing. The stargazer lily had bloomed. I yanked it out and tossed it out in the snow.

It took me 3 months to get my sinuses to drain and heal.
