Things you wish you could say

Depending on the context, it doesn't bother me too much:
"This pen has the big chicks, that one has the baby chicks, and the adults are over there."

The bird is a "chick" for quite a while, but grows a lot and needs very different levels of care at different points.
In agreement!

I have itty bitty chickies, bigger chickies and chicklets, and chickie-poos.

Things I wish I could say…..

So it’s ok for you to contact me on my person cellphone, after hrs at home. Yet if I ask you to get someone to sign something (a person who is your next door neighbour) you tell me you need to keep a strict separation between work and home.

:barnie :barnie:barnie:he

Breath in…. Breath out…..

Wish I could say that that motherboard survived being recapped with shiny new capacitors. Nope. It didn't. It looks like I gave it a nice scratch taking it out of the case. At least I got some practice with it.

(It's a old motherboard from the next-door-neighbors' bountiful gift of 4 old machines that they didn't want anymore, and that all except 2 of them are super duper old).

I wish I could say that the parents of my nephews were responsible adults.

Tuesday I was asked to pick the boys up from school and bring them home Wednesday and Thursday since their 16year old sister was on a two day long school trip so obviously she wasn’t there to drive them home. Sure no problem. I’ll work around the fact that I work night shift.
Wednesday morning I have a confirmation text message with their mom that yes I am still picking them up after school. Wednesday afternoon I drive to town, spend ten minutes finding a parking spot and another ten minutes locating the boys. We are headed to the car when the younger one says “I think I saw my dad..” so we wait, sure enough he comes rolling around the block. Sent boys home with dad. Tell them I’ll see them tomorrow.
Wednesday evening another text conversation with their mom, she apologized for the mix up and said that their dad would text me what the plans were for Thursday before noon.
Thursday, no text messages come.
I send a message to their dad asking if I am getting the boys or not. No reply.
I go pick up boys. 45 min after pick up he finally texts back “hope you got the boys, and if you did thank you. My phone turned off sorry”
Like dude, really??? These are YOUR kids! Be responsible! (Also the parents are together so the lack of communication about THEIR kids also amazes me)

I’m sorry you went through that.

My kids are in their 20s now, but when they were younger I went through this crap all the time. Why? Because my husband Does. Not. Listen. Made me look like a damn idiot constantly, so I just did it all myself.

Thanks for nothing…

I mean I bought my husband a t shirt that says “my wife says I never listen….or something like that”, but at least when it came to picking up or dropping off the kids somewhere I could count on him for that, even if he did have to ask several times what the plan was .

Just repeat that back at them. Sorry, can't help you, I have to keep a strict separation ... and I'm now blocking you so you can't call me at home, bye ...

Oh yes, things you wish you could say! :lau
Oh I say everything to my boss and he knows eggsactly when I am ticked off. And he knows that there isn’t a thing he can do, apparently I guess I am the finance and account guru.

Oh well I am over it.

He actually isn’t that bad, and I have a lot of leeway, can come and go as I please. So it’s all ok.

Mine was relegated to drop off only, because I could look him in the face (if I stood on a chair) in the morning to remind him what kid was going where. Pick ups? Hard No.

Growing up in a rural area us kids went to school came home did homework and went to bed, we did not go anywhere in the evenings. Saturday morning was our dance class, the parents went shopping. Then home.

So there was no pick up the kids issue.

Then when I got my license I became the ‘go-fer’ - I was eggcited to have mum ask me to go to the grocery store for something. That lasted for about a dozen times until I figured out I was the go-fer hahahaha.

I was then eggspected to drive myself and sister to dance class while my parents relaxed at home.
