ToMAYto ToMAHto grow-along

And now the three week photos

Bumble Bee, giving me pullet vibes today
1000017490.jpg
Apollo is hitting the scraggly tween phase hard.
1000017493.jpg
Rose is still one of the calmest chick in this brood.
1000017489.jpg
1000017488.jpg
Cherry is starting to get some nice color on the shoulders.
1000017483.jpg
1000017484.jpg
Sungold is starting to get some copper (i think) coming through on his neck/chest and by his ears.
1000017492.jpg
Anne is getting fawn on the feathers now too, so pretty. Really hoping she's a pullet, but excited to see how she feathers in regardless.
1000017487.jpg
And Cherokee is looking like a buff columbian. I don't know why his neck feathers do that! They've been kinda curled since hatch (also, this chick just will not sit still for pictures, this is the best I could do.

And the toMAYtos are officially out of my basement. They're still not sure about the new brooder, but they have about 4 times more space so I'm sure they'll come around soon. The brooder, watere, and feeder from downstairs are cleaned and sanitized and ready to go for the next hatch in April!

Four weeks and we had our first field trip outside today!

I thought I had more photos of Bumble Bee, but I guess not. Bee has developed a bit of a comb, starting to lean cockerel.

1000017887.jpg
Apollo seems to be developing female specific coloration.
1000017864.jpg
1000017866.jpg
Rose continues to look like a sweet little pullet.
1000017858.jpg
1000017859.jpg
Cherry is also developing pretty pullet specific coloring.

1000017875.jpg
Sungold has been giving me cockerel vibes from the beginning, but other than thick legs and a very wide comb there's no other signs. I'm starting to wonder if we're looking at a brahma mix pullet.

1000017879.jpg
And Anne has had some comb development over the last week! Looking pretty masculine now.

And Cherokee has grown auck lovely golden feathers! Weeks two and three I was getting cockerel vibes, but today I'm leaning a little toward pullet. It could go either way.

I’m glad Apollo looks like a pullet
Pretty decent ratio
Which are you thinking of keeping?

Almost 5 weeks and getting so big! Three (Apollo, Cherry, and Rose) I'm confident are pullets. Two (Anne and Bumble Bee) I'm fairly certain are cockerels. And the last two I'm on the fence about, combs and lega get me thinking maybe male, then I look again and think they look more feminine. I'm pretty sure Sungold is going to keep me guessing for a while

Bumble Bee's got cheeks coming in! Did not see that coming!
