Two Week Old Blue Copper Marans - Help Guessing Their Gender, Please?!

Hello,

I am a first time chick raiser. I opted for four Blue Copper Marans from a local feed store. They were one week old at purchase, so they are currently around two weeks old. I am a complete novice when it comes to chicks and raising them, so I have been reading as much as I can. I realize that they are likely too young currently to identify their gender, but I thought the pictures below could spark some early guesses or maybe even a consensus. I am very eager to find out exactly what I have. I can then work on gender-appropriate names!

Can anyone see any early indicators whether male or female??

(Note: This was their first "photo shoot," so I think they appear a little squatty in stature due to being nervous and in an unfamiliar surrounding).

OK. Thanks for checking! I figured I was too early. Is there any significance to the bright comb mainly only apparent on chicks #1 and #2? Or, maybe they're just nothing more than early bloomers?

Looks like they just have orange combs and the others have more blue at the moment. As far as I know there's no significance to that as far as gender goes, they just have different skin pigmentation in those place

Too early to be sure. If I had to label one a cockerel, I would say that #1 was one, based on the larger, redder comb.

I agree with you both. I have no experiencing sexing, but it seems somewhat possible the fast-appearing, bright comb could be consistent with a cockerel. Thanks for your input! I am hoping for 1 cockerel and 3 hens. I will post updated pics at week three!

4 week update. These pictures are not necessarily in the same order as above, but I think it is clearer that chick #1 below is likely a rooster. I cannot tell what #2-4 are yet. Does anyone have any idea? THANKS!

Chick 1 is clearly a cockerel. It's still too early to tell for the rest of them. By six weeks, the copper should start coming in. If any of them get the copper on their shoulders, they are boys.
